The Elmore County Food Pantry was established in 2008 under the leadership of Charles Chamblee, Pastor of Victory Temple Church (Wetumpka, AL). In response to a desire to help the hurting in Elmore County and the leading of the Holy Spirit, Pastor Chamblee and the members of Victory Temple stepped out in faith to establish a work that would grow from humble beginnings to currently helping over 520 Elmore County families on a monthly basis.
In June, 2010 the Elmore County Food Pantry moved to 919 Company Street, Wetumpka. Pastor Chamblee served as the Food Pantry’s Executive Director from its inception until his resignation in July, 2012. He is to be commended for his vision and passion in establishing one of the county’s most meaningful ministries.
In December 2014 the Elmore County Food Pantry under the leadership of its Board of Directors took another step of faith and purchased the beautiful facility located at 515 W. Boundary Street in Wetumpka, Alabama. This facility provides the amenities needed to distribute food to the needy of Elmore County for many years to come.
The Elmore County Food Pantry is an autonomous 501(c)3 nonprofit organization existing to serve our community by extending a helping hand and providing food, support and love for those facing dire circumstances beyond their control.
The Board and Staff of the Elmore County Food Pantry would like to thank its many volunteers who sacrifice tirelessly in support of this great ministry. We would also like to thank our many friends (individuals, churches, civic groups, schools, businesses and organizations) who donate food and funds to this ministry.
